I’m Richie Phillips, a freelance motion designer, animator and VFX artist based in Leicester. I work with agencies, production companies and in-house teams across the Midlands and London. You can book me for remote support or discuss having me join your team on site.

The right arrangement depends on your project and the way your team works. Here are the details worth agreeing before a booking starts.

When remote support makes sense

Remote working can suit a team with a clear brief, accessible project files and an agreed review process. Tell me how your team shares assets, presents work and collects feedback. We can agree the handover and communication arrangements before starting.

I can animate supplied designs, help solve a motion problem or contribute earlier in the creative process. Sharing the current state of the project helps us identify where I can be useful.

Planning an on-site booking

I’m happy to work alongside a team in person. For an on-site booking in the Midlands or London, send the location, dates and expected working arrangements. We can discuss availability, travel and what is needed on site before confirming the booking.

Let me know whether you need support for a particular stage, a set of production dates or a project that is still being scoped. Also tell me about the equipment, software and file access your team expects me to use.

I’m based in Leicester. London and the wider Midlands are areas I’m available to work in, rather than separate office locations.

What sort of work can I help with?

My work covers motion graphics, animation and VFX. The portfolio includes illustration and animation for an E4 sting, product editing and motion graphics for DeWalt and animated website explainers.

I work with After Effects, Premiere Pro, Illustrator and Photoshop. If your project has particular technical requirements, include them in the enquiry so we can confirm the fit.

What should you send with an availability enquiry?

  • The dates you need and any fixed delivery deadline
  • The type of work and the stage the project has reached
  • Designs, references or a short brief
  • Whether the booking is remote or on site
  • The location for any on-site days
  • Your software, project file and handover requirements
  • Your budget and the person coordinating the booking

Availability depends on the dates and scope. An enquiry gives us the information needed to discuss both; it does not assume a booking is confirmed.

Need the whole project delivered?

You do not need an existing creative team to work with me. I can guide a project from the first idea through script, design and animation to final delivery. Read how to brief a motion designer or explore freelance motion design support to choose a starting point.
